Policy プライバシーポリシー

Nagamine Seicha Co., Ltd. respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. It applies to everyone who interacts with us, anywhere in the world.

1. Who we are

Nagamine Seicha Co., Ltd. is a Japanese tea merchant headquartered at 45 Isshiki, Yaizu-shi, Shizuoka 425-0011, Japan. We have been in business since 1876. For all privacy-related matters, you can reach our representative director, Takayuki Tatara, directly:

  • Email: takayuki@nagamine-seicha.co.jp
  • Phone: +81-54-624-0671

2. What we collect

When you submit a sample request or wholesale inquiry

  • Your name and the name of your business
  • Your email address and phone number
  • Your business address and shipping destination
  • Information you choose to share about your business — type, target volume, areas of interest

When you complete a payment

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., our payment provider. We do not see, store, or have access to your full credit card number. Stripe shares with us only what we need to fulfill your order: your name, your shipping address, the last four digits of the card used, and confirmation that payment cleared. Stripe’s privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

When you visit this website

We collect minimal technical information — IP address, browser type, pages visited — to keep the site running and to understand which pages buyers find useful. We do not use advertising trackers, do not sell visitor data, and do not run any cross-site behavioral profiling.

3. Why we collect it

We use your information for the following limited purposes:

  • Fulfilling your request. Replying to inquiries, sending sample kits, processing wholesale orders, arranging international shipping.
  • Communicating about your order. Confirmation emails, dispatch notifications, follow-up to discuss your evaluation.
  • Customs and regulatory compliance. Customs declarations, FDA Prior Notice (for US shipments), commercial invoicing.
  • Improving our service. Anonymized analytics about which products buyers ask about most.

We do not use your information to send marketing messages without your consent, and we do not share or sell your information to third parties for their own purposes.

4. Who we share it with

We share information only with parties strictly necessary to deliver what you have requested:

  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing
  • Formspree — secure form submission delivery
  • Pegasus Global Express (PEN-DHL) — international shipping and customs handling
  • Customs authorities — in destination countries, as required by law

We do not transfer information to any other party for any other purpose. We do not sell mailing lists. We never have.

5. How long we keep it

We keep transactional records (invoices, shipping documents) for the period required by Japanese tax and corporate law — generally seven years. Inquiry correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful to maintaining the relationship; you may ask us to delete it at any time.

6. Your rights

Wherever you are located, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what information we hold about you
  • Correct anything inaccurate
  • Delete your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Stop using your information for any specific purpose
  • Receive a portable copy of your information

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, your rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively are fully respected. To exercise any of these rights, write to takayuki@nagamine-seicha.co.jp. We respond within thirty days.

7. International transfers

We are based in Japan. If you are located elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and stored in Japan. Japan has been recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection. Additionally, when we work with Stripe, your data may be processed in the United States; Stripe maintains GDPR-compliant standard contractual clauses.

8. Security

We protect your information with practical measures: TLS encryption on all web traffic, limited access on a need-to-know basis, two-factor authentication on our payment and email systems, and no unencrypted storage of sensitive data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.

9. Cookies

This site uses only essential cookies needed for the site to function. We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or any cookies that follow you around the web after you leave.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when laws change or when we adopt new tools. The current version will always be available at this URL. Material changes will be flagged at the top of the page.
